ABOUT
A vintage artefact, the Full-Faced box has been cast in brass and artfully carved to resemble the face of a woman. It opens up to become two hollow halves and is useful for safekeeping small items such as rings and hairpins.
From a cultural lens, it is to be noted that the Full-Faced box is commonly used by married Indian women to store Kumkum, a Vermillion tinged powder that is applied as a mark on the center part of their hair. The unexpected storage space within the face makes for a great hiding place to stash away precious, secret souvenirs.
